The XFX HD5870 2 GB Eyefinity6 is a nice card. It performs just as well as any regular HD5870 and it is nice to see that XFX has been smart and included a wide variety of passive display adapters...

If you however are in need of a card that offers the flexibility to hook up to more than 3 monitors then it instead offers a tremendous value as it not only is much cheaper that other professional solutions but also still is a viable gaming card.

XFX, yet again release another “Xtremely F**king Xcellent” video card.

This is one of the most impressive HD5870’s on the market right now and if you want to push it even further with manual overclocking we found a lot of headroom with our own, although as always results will vary from card to card. XFX has released an overclocked Radeon HD 5870 card that not only outperforms ATI’s original reference by a significant amount, it is also much cooler and lot quieter… an intoxicating mixture for an enthusiast gamer and a serious challenge for Fermi.

As we know, AMD has prohibited the partners from deviation from the reference design where stock cooling is clock speeds are concerned, so this piece does not have anything truly specific to XFX than the sticker, however, manufacturers can bundle extras and tart up the cosmetic surgery and here XFX satisfy our needs with an all-black slick box, quality packaging, a removable - souvenier outer cover, two 6-pin PCI E - molex adapter, a DVI-DSub converter, installation CD-ROM and guide the free Dirt2 coupons, and XFX's trademark door hanger. The 5870’s performance lived up to our expectations, and as the driver is not even mature yet, we know there will be further untapped fps in it. The card performed very convincingly and easily - freely using the 8x AA in all resolutions, and an important addition is the hugely increased FPS.

The Radeon HD 5870 is the most desirable hardware product of the moment. For the hardware devotee 2009 has become a terribly good year: combine new Intel Lynnfield processor with a beautiful P55 motherboard, XFX Radeon HD 5870 and Windows 7 and you create all of a sudden an animal of a machine.

As one of youngest ATI-partners,  XFX are rapidly overtaking the others nevertheless. Their Radeon HD 5870 is on first impressions identical to those of the competition, but having said that there is nothing wrong: the card is rapid, strong and complete. XFX have at this moment cheapest 5870 at the market . Now the first full DirectX 11 games festival can really start!

This graphics card from XFX represents the high end of the budget segment, we looked at how the card performed in our tests, and we see that it is top class. For the slightly more price-conscious XFX 5850 BLACK EDITION offers great performance for a relatively nice price tag.

If you’re looking to buy yourself a gaming card, you can’t go wrong with XFX HD 5850 Black Edition card. Although the card is overclocked, XFX decided against changing reference cooling. This was probably a wise move as thermals are very good and comparable to those on the reference card. The card’s GPU comes overclocked by 40MHz and the memory by 125MHz, but that wasn’t the maximum as we managed to push the GPU up to 930MHz without changing voltage or meddling with fan rpm. We managed to score about 12% better on top of already 6% higher results the HD 5850 Black Edition scored versus the reference HD 5850.

We've seen factory overclocked boards in the past that have pushed what a stock cooler is capable of arguably too close to the limit, yet this Black Edition part achieves its performance increases with absolute ease and comfort, to the point where we didn't even feel the need to include charts for these three disciplines in our review as they were simply identical to those seen when testing with a reference clocked card.

Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition is undoubtedly an excellent piece of hardware.
If you have the cash available and want to snag the fastest Radeon HD 5850 we've seen on the market.  There are even cards in stock at the time of writing - Something of a rarity itself in the world of the Radeon HD 5800 series at present.

If you are looking for a graphics card of this new generation that supports DirectX 11, I think its worth taking a closer look at XFX 5850 - although it is built entirely by reference design, but the board has good overclocking potential and performs great when you raise the rates a bit. The fan, which also is of reference type keeps the card cool and noise level is nothing to complain about.

We never expected the card to beat it's bigger brother, the HD5870 but in the overclocking department it certainly did. Reaching huge overclocks of 910/1300MHz on the core and memory respectively, the card was made for overclocking.

if you are in the market for a new graphics card the HD 5850 represents an extremely good value for your hard earned money. XFX just adds to that by including two things that are unique among ATI’s board partners: a Double Lifetime warranty and excellent customer support. Value, performance, DX11 capabilities and a lifetime warranty; we really couldn’t ask anything more of a graphics card. As such, the XFX Radeon HD 5850 1GB receives our Dam Good Value Award.

Our today's test samples once again prove that XFX has what it takes to deliver quality products, and with the 5-Star support, you'll be set for a long, long time. No matter where you purchase it, this card is worth every penny..... Add to that the fact that this is a DX11 card which presents a great investment in the future and that it features AMD's Eyefinity, and this is a no brainer - we dub the XFX HD 5850 a Fudzilla Recommended graphics card.

All the Evergreen series cards come with DX 11 support and thus are great future-proof investments. Windows 7 will be out soon, and if you're planning to milk it for all it's worth, then these cards are currently the best, and only option(s).

The XFX HD 5850 is clearly one of the best cards we've had on our tests and the bang-per-buck ratio is excellent.

We theorised then that the fair price point considering the HD 5830’s performance lying almost exactly in between that of the HD 5770 and HD 5850 would be around £180, and it’s good to see XFX not only taking note, but actively driving down prices to a fairer and more competitive level as well as including a triple AAA game, making this far more than a basic OEM bundle. The third party cooler is surprisingly capable despite its diminutive size and does a good job of keeping the card cool at idle while at the same time not spinning up to deafening levels under load and the addition of a Steam redemption code for AVP only sweetens the deal.

The cheapest HD 5830 around is hard to fault!

It's good to see that XFX is taking note of this situation, actively lowering prices to a fairer level. The fact that XFX is able to do this with a card that can hardly be described as cheap and cheerful is excellent. The quiet cooler and the included copy of AvP combine with the attractively low price tag combine to make the XFX Radeon HD 5830 a great buy.

I can say with certainty customers won't be disappointed. For me personally it was enough to let the card decide whether it was hot or not and relish the quiet, fast and brutal gaming experience... the most deliciously aggressive display of unexpected polygon-crunching power I've witnessed for a long tome. I'm serious; if I had to put a sound to this metaphor it would be that of enraged bear-howls. The XFX card is fantastic; it tears into the latest games with the same carefree abandon as would a Tank from Left 4 Dead.

Quality Recognition: Benchmark Reviews Silver Tachometer Award.

The XFX Radeon HD 5830 earns a Silver Tachometer Award, because it pushes the design of the HD5xxx series further along than many of its contemporaries. The power supply is state-of-the-art in ways that make it smaller, cheaper and more efficient, not more complex. The cooling solution is right-sized, not over-sized, and also more efficient than most. It's always easier to solve engineering problems with a pile of parts and more money, rather than hard work, but I've consistently preferred the simpler, neater results from the latter approach. For now, this XFX card is priced in the middle of the pack, and the inclusion of the Aliens vs. Predators game and XFX's exclusive Double-Lifetime warranty certainly adds some tangible value.

Well now, what a performance! When I got the XFX Radeon HD5830, I expected a mild performer with mild options. Boy was I wrong! The card gives great perforamnce on stock speeds, now this would be great on its own, but this card goes one step further and is an excellent overclocker as well! For the $200 price range, this card was beating out the GTX 285 Matrix card and almost always came out on top of the GTX 275. Eyefinity is a polished product that should have been here en masse a long time ago. Those of you who have moved to dual-monitor setups can vouch with me that you never want to go back.

Even with the limited adjustments available within the CCC's Overdrive utility, I was still able to max the GPU's clock speed in a matter of minutes and get the RAM to an excellent overclock rather expediantly as well. Throw in a free copy of Aliens vs. Predator and really, there is not to much to say about this card other than the XFX Radeon HD5830 is without doubt the card to have in its price range!

It is hard to fault a card which supports Blu-Ray acceleration, HDMI 1.3, HDCP, DTS Master Audio and Dolby True HD in addition to DirectX11, especially for under £110 (5750 RRP).

The Radeon 5700 series relies on much of the same technological prowess that makes the 5800-series so profoundly popular right now, however, has a few cut-backs which help keep it very affordable. The Radeon series of GPUs simply offer stellar performance at each of their respective price levels... An area that these cards clearly excel at is the area of power use and heat – at no time in my period of testing them did the cooling fans ever get past a “barely there” audible range. There was never tons of heat blowing out the back as we’ve seen on other cards and the overall power-use is very remarkable.

XFX HD 5770 XXX is part of XFX's XXX series, which means that it had increased frequencies right from the factory. Usually, one can ask whether it is worthwhile to buy these Through a special editions, it's usually not any problem to achieve the same levels with the usual cards. But in this case, the price differs so little, plus the XFX card clocked higher than the other cards. It may be that the nucleus of XFX's XXX Card is specially selected, just as they must cope with higher frequencies.

XFX helps make DirectX11 compatibility under £100 a reality... we're pleased to report that the DX11  performance of the HD 5750 stood up well... We really liked the smaller dimensions of the card, it performs admirably.

You may remember the ATI Radeon HD5750 1GB graphics card review that we did a week ago, this card is using the same GPU but has a bit more power squeezed out of it, and slightly better benchmark results. This card does have twin DVI, HDMIand display ports available so no matter what kind of monitor you’re driving with it, you’ll be good to go – it’s also important to point out that it does support 3-way monitor action with ATIs eyefinity technology...

XFX HD 5750 pulls our chart up to 90 points for a graphics card that offers the latest features and that actually proves very stable for a graphics card in this class. In addition, noise levels are far below the scale, and means the graphics card is actually a very sensible solution for HTPC setups. The price also works - very sensible when you consider that it is completely new to the market. Therefore, we assign XFX HD 5750 a SOLID PRODUCT award.

HD5670 is an ideal card for users who want "a little of everything", it has a pretty good performance in 3D games, and will actually be able to handle a wide range of very demanding games if resolution and detail level are used at a "medium" setting. It will also pull the vast majority of 2D applications without any problems whatsoever. There is no doubt that the HD5670 is superior and in addition may offer both upscaling using Crossfire and DX11 where as the GT240 does not support SLI and you still have to be content with DX10.1.
